Terms of Use
Last updated: 11 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of the Sermovo mobile app (“the app”). By downloading and using the app, you agree to them. How we handle your personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
The service is provided by Ümüt Günaydın, an individual (“Sermovo”, “we”). Contact: [email protected].
2. The service
Sermovo is an AI-powered coach for practising spoken English. You talk with the coach by voice or in writing; the app corrects sentences that go wrong, explains why in Turkish, counts your mistakes by type and brings them back in later conversations. It is a learning tool. It doesn’t replace a language school, a teacher or formal exam preparation, and it doesn’t guarantee any exam result.
3. Your account
- The app creates an anonymous account for you on first launch. You can link it to Apple or Google.
- You must be at least 13 to use the app. If you are under 18, you need the consent of a parent or guardian.
- You’re responsible for keeping your account secure. Don’t share it with others.
- You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Settings › Delete account).
4. AI processing
The voice and text features work by sending your voice and text to third-party AI services. The app asks for your explicit consent before the first voice step. If you don’t consent, or withdraw consent later, these features won’t work. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
5. AI output can be wrong
The coach’s replies, corrections, explanations and level estimates are generated by AI and may be wrong or incomplete. Don’t rely on them alone for anything important, such as formal writing or an exam. You can mark a correction as wrong from its card, and report a coach reply you find inappropriate from inside the app. Reports are reviewed to fix the error catalogue and the service.
6. Acceptable use
When using the app, you must not:
- try to produce content that is illegal, harassing, hateful or infringes anyone’s rights;
- share other people’s personal data, or someone else’s voice without their permission;
- try to get around usage limits, the paywall or security measures, or reuse free access through multiple accounts;
- access the app with automated tools, reverse engineer it, or use it in a way that disrupts the service.
If you break these terms, we may suspend or close your account.
7. Subscriptions and payment
- Paid features are unlocked by a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Current plans, prices and any free trial are shown on the in-app paywall before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- If a free trial is offered and you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the paid subscription starts.
- Manage or cancel your subscription in the App Store under Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or in Google Play under Play Store › your profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies.
- For apps downloaded from the App Store, Apple’s standard end user licence agreement also applies.
8. Usage limits
Voice conversation is subject to a daily limit that depends on your plan; when you reach it, you can carry on the conversation in writing. Current limits are shown in the app. We may change limits to keep the service sustainable and will announce changes in the app.
9. Intellectual property
The app, its design, error catalogue, scenarios and explanations belong to Sermovo. You get a limited, non-transferable right to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. What you say and write in your conversations is yours; you allow us to process it as needed to provide the service.
10. Changes and interruptions
We’re still building the app, so features may change. The service may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, outages at our providers or connection problems. If we shut the service down entirely, we’ll give reasonable notice.
11. Limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for errors in AI output, service interruptions or indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law, including Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the consumer laws of your country of residence.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection in your country of residence. The courts of the Republic of Türkiye have jurisdiction, except where consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top and announce significant changes in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
